TD Bank alone will suffer a pre-tax loss of $418 million from the unexpected floods that hit Alberta and Toronto this summer. Intact Financial Corp is expected to book $257 million in losses and Co-operators General Insurance Company already lost $77 million in claims from Alberta.

These were just two floods that hit Canada within less than one month. Last year alone, extreme weather cost the United States a record $110 Billion.
