Costco Grows and Greedy Wal-Mart Sinks

The ideological difference between the two low-cost wholesalers is outstanding and the marketplace has proven Costco right. Costco experienced a whooping 8% in annual sales growth while WalMart only experienced an anemic 1.2%.

The average wage at Costco is $17/hour versus $10 at WalMart, according to Harvard Business Review. Costco continues to pay living wages while WalMart reduced its workforce since the 2008 recession causing logistics problems and shortages that scared customers away.

Furthermore, 80% of those who still work at WalMart need food stamps to survive at an annual cost to taxpayers of $1 billion, Occupy Democrats reports . Why do taxpayers have to subsidize the most profitable US corporation with $469 billion in annual revenues?
