Dictators and odious debts allow the One Percent to abuse people and resources. Take the apparel industry, for example. A t-shirt shipped from more than 1,500 miles costs $14 at the store and comes with a mark-up price of 60%.

Who takes the other 40%? Slave workers in countries like China and Bangladesh get 12 cents while the cost of resources is just $3.69. Transporting that t-shirt from thousands of miles to the factory costs retailers only $1.09 thanks to heavily subsidized fossil fuels. The remaining dollar is divided among factory owners, worker pimps, and overhead, Alternet reports

It’s time to Tax & Regulate The One Percent.
